Hi,
First of all, to make this clear I'm helping my father out on this. I don't usually use Family Historian and I'm not at all familiar with how it works. I'm merely assisting with setting up and installation.
Dad has had FH7 for several years. It's already installed on two computers - the maximum allowed by the licence. One of the two has been replaced and we'd like to install FH on the new computer. However, during installation, I get as far as entering the licence key and get the following error message.
Now, I was expecting the option to remove one of the existing computers from the licence and install the new one in it's place. I'm not sure how or why the code I have on file should be associated with a different account (otherwise why do we have it!?) so I can only assume that an error has been made somewhere along the line, the question being where?
Or is it a case that I need to access the "defunct" machine and remove FH from that myself? This could be tricky.
All advice is gratefully accepted, bearing in mind that I'm a TV producer, not a computer programmer!

N.B. I'm not actually a user of any kind of genealogical software!

Re: Installing on new computer - multiple computer issue?
Please see the FH website advice https://www.family-historian.co.uk/activation-help and contact Calico Pie for any problems.
Exceeding the 2 allowed licences and deactivating an old device to enable a new device may need help from Calico Pie.
Sorry, but we are just a user group and cannot fix licencing issues.
