IMO the External File Links command name is a misnomer that could confuse new users.
I believe it stems from the days before FH Projects and when Media files could be held within the GEDCOM file.
Then FH V3 only dealt with standalone GEDCOM files where Media could be within the GEDCOM or externally linked files.
GEDCOM 5.5.1 and 7.0 do not allow Media to be held within the GEDCOM file and it was never recommended anyway.
So that form of internal Media is no longer possible in FH V7.
Nowadays we talk about holding Media files internal to the Project in its internal Media subfolder.
External Media files are considered to be held outside the Project folders.
The FH Help page Backups under Note on Media uses the terminology external media in this way.
However, the External File Links command lists both Project internal Media files and external Media files.
So should it be renamed Media File Links which would be more accurate?
Is this something to be reported to CP or is it a Wish List Request?

Re: Tools > External File Links
I'd report it straight to CP, as it's about somehing which is misleading rather than a request for a new feature.
Re-naming the item in the Tools menu and re-naming the dialogue box should be straightforward, although of course all references to it in the Help files would need updating too.

I've reported this idea under ticket #336898 and the reply from CP is:
"Thank you for that suggestion which we have noted and will think about."
