I'm planning my first book from the database using v7.0.19 of FH.
I can't figure out how to add an image to the text of a "Free Text" item.
Any ideas?

You can't do it with a text page, but you can add pictures to a book as a Chart. Start by adding the image to a blank diagram and save it as a Family Historian Chart. Then in the Edit Book dialogue select Saved Chart and click > to choose the chart.
It sounds a bit tedious but when you’ve learned how to do it it doesn’t take too long. For the detailed steps involved see this page in the Knowledge Base Creating a Book and scroll down to the section headed “Book Free Page Content”

Ok, so I did that. But the new “chart” is a full page and any “free text” following it does not flow behind the image, rather it starts a new page.
My intention is to build pages with images of places or things with maybe two or three paragraphs of information about the image that flow together with other pages in the chapter.
So if a family came from a particular farm, had an ancestral home, or the individual was an artist, I could create a page or two with images and information about the image and flow it into the book in the appropriate location for reference.

Have you tried using a Text Box in the chart, as described in the paragraph in the Knowledge Base page? Admittedly if you want to add as much as two or three paragraphs of text with the image it might be difficult to fit it all in the same chart as the image.

Yes I’ve played with the chart with longer text boxes and it kind of works but is less than adequate.
I may have to look into exporting to MS-Word and insert pages or see what else I can do!
Thanks for your input!
