V3 report option

Post by monty1942 » 21 Feb 2023 15:56

Yes, I am still using V3.1.2!
On the drop down menu in the main page, the entry for 'report options' is greyed out.
I have uninstalled and re- installed FH, along with any updates, but still not highlighted.
Any thoughts?
Also How can I specify the amount of generations in an 'Ancestors by Generations' reports. It only shows 3 generations, although I need 6.

It's a very long time since I used V3 so I can't remember much about it I'm afraid. Are you saying that when you actually have a report open the report options are still inactive? Have you been able to access the report options in the past?

Try searching for "Report Options" in the Help files in V3. There should be a Help button at the top, giving a menu including Search Help.

The way to specify the number of generatios in a report would be via the report options, probably on the main tab of the options.

I have an old FH V3 copy and Lorna is absolutely correct.
Use Reports > Narrative Reports > Ancestors by Generation and then set Reports > Report Options > Main tab Generations.

Thanks folks for the information.
I was going about it the wrong way. Must be old age!
