Trying to create Reburial fact

So... I would like to create a Reburial fact. How do I copy the existing Burial fact from the Standard fact set into the Extended fact set, rename it Reburial, and then just make the few minor edits to the sentence template code? Thanks in advance!

You've pretty much described the process yourself
Click Tools on the main menu, then Fact Types to get the Fact Type window. Select "All" or "Standard" in the fact type selection box, click "Burial" in the list and then the "Copy ..." button on the right. Select "to Extended Set", if that's where you want it. Click OK then select the Extended Set from the drop down at the top. Make sure "Show Hidden" box on the right is ticked. Click on your new Burial Fact and then click Edit. Change the Label to rename to Reburial, and edit other bits as you need them.

Unfortunately, Adrian is mistaken, copying the standard Burial Event will always produce a Burial Event.
Even if you relabel it as Reburial it will still use the standard INDI.BURI GEDCOM code.
So all that happens is all your Burial Events become labelled as Reburial Events!
I advise you not to customise either the Standard fact set or the Extended Set.
You need to use the Tools > Fact Types > New... button to create a new custom fact named Reburial in the Custom fact set.
You can copy the definition settings from the standard Burial Event and adapt them for your custom Reburial Event.
In particular consider the Sentence Template, Normal Time Frame, Fields Required and Witness Roles with the Roles definitions.

How often will you need a Reburial fact? If it's a one-off, a simpler approach may be to record a second burial for the same individual with a note explaining that it is a reburial, and customise the sentence to reflect the situation.

Oops, sorry for the misleading information

You’re not alone - I tried the same solution, and saw that it didn’t change the tag

.
I can see why that is the case, as it is working directly with GEDCOM descriptors, but it is an inconsistency. Cloning and modifying does work for many other features, such as Source Templates.

Yes, it's a bit confusing. I would have bet the kitchen sink on that's how I set up two custom facts some time ago, but clearly not! I can't really think of a use for the Copy function as it currently exists. Hopefully I haven't muddied the waters too much and Mike's clear explanation will help. I'm happy for my erroneous post to be deleted if that is best, although I suppose this thread might help someone understand why copying and pasting facts doesn't work as they might expect.

Copying a Standard fact to the Custom fact set allows its definition to be customised without altering the Standard fact set.
e.g. Sentence Template, Witness Roles, Advanced... features, Language Variants, etc.
It is even possible to have differently defined copies for different Projects by using 'Project only' fact sets.
That avoids the risk of a re-installation of FH restoring the Standard fact set to its default installation definition settings and wiping out all your customisations.
By changing the order of the Standard and Custom fact sets, it is easy to switch between default definitions and custom definitions which may be useful when diagnosing problems.

Thank you, Mike. I found (with a great sigh of relief) that once I deleted the superfluous copied Burial fact from the Extended list and from the Custom list that the original Burial fact reappeared under the Standard list. I will follow your suggested procedure for creating the Reburial fact.
