Fact wth (or wihtout) Media

I was look for an example of a query that show IF EXISTS media for a fact.
Something like(not written for syntax) IF EXITS IND.BIRTH.MEDIA
Mainly looking to find facts that are missing media (Birth, Death, Burial, Census)
Also Marriage - but that may be slightly different because of not individual fact.
maybe something like this?
Code: Select all
=TextIf(Exists(%INDI.BIRT.SOUR>OBJE%) or Exists(%INDI.BIRT.OBJE>%),"M","")
Can someone point me to where I can find and example?
Thanks!
Kevin

Does adding a column =MediaCount() to the sources tab of the records window help?

Are you interested in media linked to facts directly, or to sources?
If to sources, do you need to see the linkages
Fact <>Source<>Media
or just to see sources without media?

Long Story -- but due FTM , I wipe all my sources to start from scratch.
My Goal later would be to add sources and citation based on the media that is attached to the fact:
That said my current need is to know what Birth, Death. Burial, Marriage and Census are missing media (or their Media count). Hopefully. that makes sense
this is what I have so far (See attachment)
Sorry not sure how to attach screenshots

MEDIA COUNT for fact could work for me. I do NOT YET have sources. I wiped those out do to issues with FTM/ANCESTRY
I have spent the past year+ rebuilding my tree from scratch in Roots Magic which has gone well. (NO Sync failures etc)
Now my focus is to finding what I am missing before I begin working on sources and citations.
Kevin.

Starting with a fact query is probably best. Is the attached a good starting point for you?
If that works for you, to get your other columns, for example father, you'd use:
Code: Select all
=Field(FactOwner(,1,MALES_FIRST),'INDI.FAMC>HUSB')

Awesome --- I should be able to play with that.
Still learning on when to use a fact vs individual query etc.
thank you!
