One bit of advice with the Search and Replace plugin.
When changing a state such as Michigan to MI, etc, I suggest the following:
Search: , Michigan,
Replace: , MI,

i.e. Include the commas before and after the state name.
That ensures the name Michigan in some other part of a Place name is not changed by accident.
e.g. Michigan City in Indiana.

The example above assumes you always have a comma & space before and a comma with no space after each state name.

There is also a Plugin to move your Cemetery names to the Address fields, but we can discuss that later.

Ready for some hints about moving my Cemetery names to the Address fields, when you get a chance, please?

Take a look at the Rearrange Address and Place Parts plugin from the Plugin Store.
That is designed to bulk move the Address and Place comma-separated parts around.
Review the Help and Advice pages.

It works best if your Place records follow a regular format such as Cemetery, Town, County, State, USA
You can specify that Place Part 1 (that holds Cemetery) can be moved to Address Part 1, and the remaining Place Parts 2 - 5 can be shifted left.

To avoid upsetting Place records that do not include the Cemetery part, you need to select the Place records that need rearranging before running the plugin, i.e. those that have more than 4 comma-separated Parts.

One issue to consider is how to make Cemetery names unique.
Currently, they belong to the Place record which gives them their full context.
After moving to the Address field, they lose that context, so any two Cemeteries that happen to have the same name will be treated by Tools > Work with Data > Addresses as a single Cemetery. So changing one and not the other is difficult.
