Hi All,

I am still trying to decide between DEA or AS for entering my data into FH7, I have been working on a copy of my family project, which has all the information (dates and names etc) but I have removed all sources/citations. I notice when I use either a DEA or AS to enter a source/citation that neither seem to add a citation for peoples names etc.

Example:- I added my fathers Birth Cert. and neither FH or AS added a citation for his father or mother's name, I presume because the names were already there and they were adding nothing new. Not the only things not added but just a simple example.

Are there settings in FH or AS that adds a citation for all information that I input, so that if I add information from a Census and then have a Birth Certificate for someone that there is (in my opinion) a more reliable source of information. Or would I have to copy and paste the citations individually.

In AS there are many Tools > Options settings for such things.
e.g.
The 'General settings' page has an option for 'Create name citations...' '...for all individuals involved in the entry'.
For each data entry type, there are Birth Facts and Death Facts citation options.
But if the option you want is not present then you must ask Nick to add it, or you add whatever you need in FH afterwards.

DEA tend not to have such customisable options, but you can rewrite them to do whatever you like, providing you are prepared to learn the plugins LUA programming language.

IMO At present, the available DEA are still catching up with what AS offers.

I made the changes in AS and they do mainly what I want,, I just wasn't sure about how the options read and your description made it more clear. What you said about DEA was what I thought was the case, I was just hoping I was missing something and the options were hidden away somewhere.
