* Family Record customisations

Since upgrading to the latest version of FH (7.0.18) my settings in 'Summary Template (e.g. for Facts tab Listings)' for Family Records are not being applied to Family Records when viewing the Facts Tab of the Family Record Property Box. The default setting is being applied.

However, when viewing Family Records via the Facts Tab for Individual Records the customisations are applied.

Are others experiencing this?

Yes, I confirm that effect.
In earlier versions of FH those Summary Templates did not support all {codes} and was fixed (this year I think).

Jean, is this a new problem, i.e. did you see it working correctly in Family records in the previous FH version 7.0.17.1?

I was using v6 up until June of this year, I upgraded then to v7 (7.0.11). I installed no further upgrades until last week (as a result of the 'Rich Text post').

The customisations were working perfectly in v6, and after my June upgrade to v7.

Exactly what Templates are you using please?
I'll give them a try in both FH V6 and FH V7.

My Family Record Template customisations are rather straightforward and mostly similar. They start with two bullets (U+2022, Alt+0149). (My eyes do not discern well the coloured bullets indicating Individual and Family Facts. I use a single bullet for Individual Facts.)

Here are a few examples.

Marriage (Standard Event)
•• Marr: {%FACT.DATE:DAY_OF_WEEK%}

Association Fam (Custom Attribute)
•• Assoc: {value} {note}

Child born Fam (Custom Event)
•• Child born: {date:DAY_OF_WEEK}: {note}

(I see that I have used two ways of referring to the day of the week.)

I know that the Value and Note information is available in the fields just below the listed facts but I like to see the information as a 'list'.

I confirm that such Advanced Templates do work in FH V6.2.7 and don't doubt they worked in earlier versions of FH V7.

So please report that Family record bug to CP via their http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php ticket system.

Apparently, 'the Summary Template is not used in the Facts tab for Family records'.

As per FH Help:
Summary Template
Tick this box and enter a custom template in the Template field if you want non-default text displayed in the Facts tab of the Property Box, for facts of this type, when the Property Box is displaying an Individual's record details. Some reports will also use a summary template if available (if not, they will use the sentence template instead). Click on the <<Insert Code button to insert Sentence Template Codes into the template.
It is possible to view Family records in the Property Box, and the Property Box will also have a Facts tab in that case. However, the Summary Template is not used in the Facts tab for Family records.

I replied, explaining that the customisations have been appearing in the Family Records, Property Box, Facts Tab; I have been using them for 'ages' (in v6, and after my June 2022 upgrade to v7.0.11). After my upgrade last week (v7.0.18), the customisations no longer show in the Family Records, Property Box, Facts Tab.

That is disappointing. I wonder why the feature was removed.

Indeed, Mike.

I wrote, 'I shall be extremely disappointed if the functionality is now lost. I make extensive use of Family Records and spend most of my FH time using the Facts Tab of the Property Boxes for both Individual and Family Records.'

Maybe it will come back, maybe not. I have 'half' of what I want (the Family Record customisations appear in the Individual Property Box, Facts Tab).

It makes you wonder what they did for the customisations to 'disappear'.
