text in Notes
When I copy text by way of 'copy and paste' from one individual's note box to another box, the text seems to become slightly lighter, why is this and how can it be formatted to be the same?

Looks like it's a smaller font. Open the text box by double clicking on the 3dots to the right. Font size is shown top left

Re: text in Notes
It's something that's come up here before. New text entered or copied into an FH7 note can adopt a different font to its original form. I think what is happening is that the box is picking up the wrong default value from somewhere. If it is repeatable, I think it is worth reporting to CP. It's not corrupting data, but it is mildly irritating.
The only fix that I have found when it's happened to me is to manually correct the font by editing the note as David describes. If you want plain vanilla unformatted text, ensure that the font is set to Automatic, size to 10 (default) and text colour to Automatic. That removes all reference to any formatting codes in the GEDCOM file.
Is the copied version reported as Segoe UI font? That is the default for a number of Microsoft programming tools, so if it is, that is a big clue for CP to track down the root cause.

Re: text in Notes
It is not so much that it is lighter than it is in a different font.
In particular, the i and the C are different.
However, it is quite difficult to achieve that because the following two settings share the same font:
Tools > Preferences > Property Box > Fonts (shared with the Note Window) > Text:
Tools > Preferences > Notes > Default Font (shared with the Property Box)
So cannot explain how the copied text is using a different font.
If that Note Window is set to a different font (top left box) beforehand, then when the text is pasted it reverts to the Default.

Re: text in Notes
This is your text copied into a single note. The top line is unformatted and the second line is Segoe UI. It looks pretty similar to what you are seeing...

Re: text in Notes
Yes it is Segoe UI and there is no way too change it in the settings part of the Note.

Re: text in Notes
Please report it to CP. There is no "only use plain text" setting in FH7, and the only way to change it back is to select the complete text and manually change it back to its default settings, which gets a bit of a pain if it happens regularly.

Re: text in Notes
I, too, am suffering from this. I am spending a lot of time making manual corrections. My font settings are Automatic, default size, Automatic colour.
Yes to Segoe.
I shall write to CP.

Re: text in Notes
It appears that I was using the wrong version of FH 7, having not realised there was upgrade to 7.0.18. I can't reproduce the text problems on the new upgrade.
Re: text in Notes
I, too, was not using the latest upgrade. Now updated.
I had not contacted CP as I was creating a list of 'scenarios' in which the problem occurred.
I have repeated them and the problem is not fully resolved. I have created a ticket with CP.

Re: text in Notes
I raised a ticket with CP. Reply from Martin, 'I have logged that for investigation'.
