Query for Source Media with no Linked Area

Post by ChrisRead » 05 Nov 2022 14:08

This relates to a post in August I just found, but that thread didn't fully reveal the solution.

I was wanting to do a query to find Sources with a Media record that I'd forgotten to add an area link (Link face etc. on the image). I looked at the GEDCOM and identified the _AREA held the information (then subsequently found it was mentioned by tatewise in that older post).

However, I can't seem to identify where/how this is as a field in the source record field picker tree, when wanting to build the query.

Anyone have a clue what _AREA is called and where in the Source object hierarchy. Or maybe it's part of a different object, which would be a bit unintuitive.

You are correct. That field is missing from all the Data Reference Assistants.
All the associated fields such as ...SOUR.OBJE._EXCL and ...SOUR.OBJE._CAPT are listed but ...SOUR.OBJE._AREA is missing!
So that is what you need to use.

Maybe it needs to be reported to CP.
