DNA Fact
I can't figure out how to record a DNA match. I thought there was a fact type in the fact list called "DNA Fact," but it's not there. What I need to record is one case where an autosomal DNA match shows a considerably closer relationship than paper documents, suggesting that I relate to this individual on another line in addition to the one documented on paper. The other is a living individual for whom no paper documentation of a link has yet been found, but that a Y-DNA test conclusively shows a common progenitor was an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in 1663. I want someway to record this relationship, which in all likelihood splits off from our common progenitors a generation or two later, when his clan ended up in Iowa and mine in Ohio. As usual, any help greatly appreciated. -- Carl

There is a DNA Match fact in the Extended Set as explained in DNA Match (20964).

Sorry if I am reopening an old thread, but it seems relevant.
Until now I have documented DNA matches outside FH. Now I want to add that match information to relevant individuals.

The previous discussion suggests there is a DNA Match attribute out of the box, albeit hidden, but I cannot find it. Has it been superseded or do I need to install it from somewhere?If not, then in Tools > Fact Types... tick Show Hidden and DNA Match should be listed as <undefined>.

Sorry, the one in the Extended Set is actually called DNA Markers.
In Tools > Fact Types... tick Show Hidden and DNA Markers should be listed.

I suggest you search the forum for "DNA" and check some of the topics.
The main point I can see is that there is no best or accepted method yet to record DNA relationships, and the data provided is still a "moving target". Within previous topics are various facts with "organised text" and queries.
