Size of start page
I have recently had to reinstall my program to a new PC I have managed to remove the splash screen at start up, but I would like to keep the startup page enlarged I can do this OK but it always reverts to small on start up.
I am sure some years ago someone on here helped me to overcome the problem, if some help to overcome this problem again it will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards.

What FH version are you using? Your profile on the right says FH V2.
Have you used the FHUG Knowledge Base Family Historian Copy and Migration Guide that explains how to migrate customisations from PC to PC?

Hi 'pjm'
The info panel to the right, where Mike Tate asked about you being on v2 - which you confirmed - also suggests from the '2 posts' (which increments each time you post/reply) that you're either completely new to the forum, or if you posted before, it would have been under a different 'alias'
If you knew what it was before it might help you search the posts here?
The V2 archive at the foot of 'General Usage' has nothing like what you've asked here.

Size of text and windows (13440)
You appear to need the upgrade to 2.3.5 from https://www.family-historian.co.uk/down ... ad-archive
I strongly suggest you keep a copy of that upgrade in case you need it in future.

Re: Size of start page
Be aware that FH2 has been obsolete for many years. Hardly any other users will still be on that version, and long-serving FHUG contributors are all on at least version 6, so any guidance they give will be from memory rather than being able to test it out themselves.
You should give serious thought to upgrading if you anticipate using FH regularly. There will be a new learning curve, but you will have a much better product with plenty of help and guidance available.

Hello all,
Thank you kindly for your help and assistance, the download 2.3.5 would not work for me microsoft windows 11 would not let it through unsafe download.
I will take the advice given and consider Ver 6 purchase, this Ver 2 was purchased 11/10/03 from PC World still have the receipt, time for a change perhaps.
Thanks again and all good wishes.

Re: Size of start page
Is the Windows 11 warning like the one shown at Windows Security Warnings?
If so then follow the instructions to click More info and then Run anyway to continue the installation.
The download for V2.3.5 is perfectly safe.
Nowadays you will be purchasing FH V7 not V6.
In the intervening 19 years, you will notice significant changes.

Re: Size of start page
To follow on from Mike's reply, the warning isn't on the install, but the actual download process.
I have Win11 and tried it, and in Edge, got a red x saying it was unsafe, if you click the 3 dots you can select 'keep' to download the update file. It takes a bit of persistence telling the system to Keep or that it's Safe!
The install seems to run without issue - I backed out of it as I have v7!

Hello,
Thanks for coming back to me, I have done that, and it's installed but have a problem, the box that asks you if you want to install YES OR NO will not go away it's done it job and finished.
I you click yes or no or the X top right it comes back when you try to use FH, have you any ideas.
Kind regards.

Re: Size of start page
Either kill it using Task Manager, or reboot the PC would get rid of it?

Hello,
Thanks for coming back to me I have rebooted many times, not sure about task manager I have looked at it and there are hundreds of entries there, would not know what to do that's all new to me.
I will now uninstall FH2 and consider FH7 at a later date, trouble is do not do much research now age 80.
Kind regards.

Re: Size of start page
OK, obviously it's bringing up the installer when you open the program, regardless of rebooting etc. so the Task Manager won't be much use really.
Version 2 is now quite old and has no support, so Windows 11 is obviously a step too far for it.
