Customise FH Pre-set wording

Post by WBFamHist » 06 Sep 2022 13:30

Is it possible to change the pre-set wording for events in FH eg the set wording reading "He experienced 1841 Census on" and replace it with "He is recorded in the 1841 Census on". Thank you.
Richard Whitchurch-Bennett (using V7.0.11).

Are you sure you're using the standard FH census fact? If you've imported your data from another programme you may have ended up using what FH sees as a custom fact that is overriding the standard fact. A screenshot from Tools > Fact Type > Census > Edit will help us see what's going on. (To attach screenshots, see Forum Usage Tips)

The default for the sentence template for the standard census fact is

{individual} appeared in the census {date} {place} {age}

The method of editing sentence templates is described at Narrative Report Fact Sentence Templates

You have just asked the same question on the Email list where I have explained why it is better to use the standard Census Event and to use the Change Any Fact Tag plugin to convert them.
