* Event order
Event order
I'm not sure if this has ben covered before. I'm using FH 7.0.15. I have just been adding military history for someone who served for two periods, first in and then after WWI. I had entered the second period of history first, then started on the earlier period. I now want to re-order the events/attributes to the first period, but I can't seem to get them in the order I want as one or other of the Up/Down arrows gets disabled. For example, in the attached illustration, I want the date of enlistment to appear first in the sequence, followed by the residence on eliistment, but FH won't allow it. I haven't tried deleting the events/attributes and re-entering as I'm not sure that would fix the problem. How do I get my events ion the order I want?

Re: Event order
To ensure sorting in the order you want (rather than risk FH re-sorting events), give each Fact a Sort Date - increment by one day on each and then all will be sorted in the order you want.

Re: Event order
I'm confused. In the OP screenshot, the Enlisted and Residence facts already appear to be in the desired order!
They are both Dated 15 Dec 1914 and the black arrow shows they can be swapped, but that is not necessary as they are already in the requested order.
However, the Facts tab can be misleading as it always displays facts sorted in Date order.
The underlying facts may be held in the Project database in a very different order (based on how they were entered and what Preference settings you have chosen).
The All tab shows the Project database order and has up/down arrows top right that can override the defaults.
For full advice see FHUG Knowledge Base Sorting Children, Spouses & Facts into Date Order that needs updating with FH V7 Sort Date features.

Re: Event order
I interpreted that they need to be above Service Number, height, chest, regiment. IE there are several Military facts all with the date 15 Dec 1914 and the OP wants the Residence and Enlisted facts to be first two in that list

Re: Event order
Unless my eyes deceive me Neil, those military attributes are dated 15 Feb 1914 so must precede the 15 Dec 1914 facts.
Maybe there are some typos, i.e. the month entered was 2 or 12 when they should all be the same month.

Dates should have been 15 Feb. I will now return to the dark place under the stairs suitably embarrassed
