7.0.15 end punctuation omission in reports?

Has anyone determined if the new 7.0.15 update includes the option to omit the double period at the end of event sentences so that "born in Washington, D.C." will not appear as "born in Washington, D.C.."

A quick check shows it hasn't been.

Helen, unless my eyes are deceiving me, you still show two full stops , which is what OP was complaining about.
Woodr wanted Washington D.C. not Washington D.C..
Personally, I think State codes like NC, SC and DC don’t use any punctuation. So North Carolina is NC not N.C. thus double full stops don’t occur.

Sorry Helen, It hought you were saying there isn’t two full stops, then I realised you meant problem hasn’t been fixed
However, my comments about using full stops stills holds true. Preferred wisdom says that when abreviations contain only capital letters, no full stop should be used. I.e. use CEO, MBA, MPG, MPH etc not C.E.O. Etc.

Has the 'problem' been reported to CP?
If not then it will never get fixed.
If the Sentence Template itself ends in a period then the double periods are automatically pruned.
e.g. {couple} were divorced ... in D.C. correctly produces They were divorced ... in D.C. without double periods.
It seems FH doesn't detect that the text produced by a final code such as {place} may end in a period and should be pruned.
The same 'problem' could arise with other codes such as {individual} or {address} or {value} ending with a period.
I suspect that FH is performing the pruning before the code substitution instead of afterwards.

Pedant alert -
A number of issues there. Firstly, the District of Columbia is not a state, it's a district, so you are not comparing apples with apples.
Remember that American usage differs from British, with the former tending to use more periods. However, if you check the American government website, they say USA rather than U.S.A., but "living in the U.S." rather than "living in the US"!
Most American style guides prefer Washington D.C. over Washington DC, so seeing as it's their capital city, I'm happy for them to call it whatever they want!

I was born in and have lived in the United States for 56 years, 8 months and 1 day. I can count on one hand the number of times I have used periods on DC. If you look at the website for the Whitehouse and the Supreme Court, neither of those bastions of the republic use periods/full stops in the address for the institution. I truly doubt you will be unfairly persecuted if you elect to forgo them. I am not arguing what some think is right or wrong, because people have opinions, some right and some wrong. In this case, it isn't all that important in the overall scheme of things.

Although this discussion of D.C. versus DC is quite interesting, it is not relevant to the FH punctuation problem.
Nobody has responded to the question of whether the problem has been reported to CP.
May I suggest that the OP raises the problem with CP to see if they are prepared to fix it.
