Specific Sentence Templates not honoured.

Post by tatewise »

The sentences: my lack of Englisch? (20732) thread seems to identify a significant fault in CP.

In the Property Box Facts tab the Sentence box can be edited to create a Template specific to that Fact.
Any such specific fact Template should be used in Narrative Reports but currently they seem to be ignored.

Currently, only the global default Tools > Fact Types... definitions are ever applied to Narrative Reports.

Can anyone else confirm that?

See Narrative Report Fact Sentence Templates Specific Fact Sentences for details.

Local sentence definitions are working for me.

For example... In my sister's Death sentence, I changed the global "died" to "was found deceased" and that is output in the Individual Narrative.

Local sentence definitions are also working OK for me. (If a sentence is edited after the narrative report has been created it is necessary to refresh the report).

How strange. I have tried several and none work in FH V7.0.11. Jim, is that your FH version?

I can't answer for Jim, but that's my version.

OK, I tried a PC Restart to no effect and then re-installed FH V7.0.11 and that cured the problem.
I had been customising various Language Translation settings in support of sentences: my lack of Englisch? (20732) so presumably something in there upset the FH handing of Sentence Templates, but it will be difficult to repeat.

Mike, for the avoidance of confusion will you correct the statement in the other topic, where you said:
"If the Property Box Facts tab Sentence box is edited then that specific template should be used in narrative style reports, but it is not used anywhere. That is a major fault that needs reporting to CP."

A bit late to the party; however, yes. I'm also using FH v7.0.11.
