Excluding Cause of Death in Reports

I have been trying to create some "standard" Individual Summary Reports and hit a problem with the DEATH event.

In the "Individual Events and Attributes" section Death Entries were showing a line for Cause: and another for Address:. I want to exclude the Cause: line, however, there doesn't seem to be way to do this in the report options. There is a tick box for Address:, but nothing that relates to Cause of Death.

After some trial and error I found that, although Cause: shows in the Fact Property Box as a discrete field, it is treated as a NOTE: by the report options. This means that unticking Notes: removes Cause: from the report.

The problem is that this removes all "NOTES" from the report!

I have tried marking the Cause: as a Private Note - but this doesn't work!

It seems that, although the report treats Cause of Death as a Note, in FH it isn't, so the "private" double brackets are just displayed in the report, e.g. [[ Pneumonia]] !

How do I exclude Cause of Death but retain other NOTES?

Privacy [[ square brackets ]] only apply to multi-line fields such as Note, Address and Text from Source, but even then are not consistently applied in all Diagram and Report displays. So they cannot be applied to short text fields like Cause.

You are correct that there is no independent Cause tick option and the Help does not even mention the Cause field.
BTW: Any fact can have a Cause added (via the All tab) and not just Death Events.

Since there is no independent way to exclude the Cause data, I think that is more than a Wish List Request and so should be reported to CP via http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php.

In the meantime, the only option is to Save Report As > Word-Processor Document (RTF)... or PDF File... and edit the file outside FH.
