improve website plug in

Post by DJKeetch » 27 May 2022 15:35

I am using FH 7.0.11 with plugin version 3.2 on windows 10

When updating my website WWW.davidkeetch.com I use FH to create a folder with the necessary files
on my computer then run the plug in on it so as to include married women in italics and a search filter.
Then I add a couple of lines of code to the index page to allow my favicon to be accessible on computers.
After that I click on the index file to check all is ok including the presence of the search filter.

Then I use FileZilla v3.59.0 to upload to my site asking it to overwrite any previous files.

The married women italics work ok, plus any newly added individuals are there, but the search filter just doesn't appear.
All the files on line appear to be the same as on my computer and have the latest date against them.

I have looked at the contents of the following and compared the versions on line to the versions on my computer but have not managed to spot any differnces.

_nameindex.html
_nameindex.js
index.html
jquery.min.js
lytebox.css
lytebox.js

The problem seems to have started with FH7. I had no problem with FH6.

What am I missing?

David, you asked the same question recently via my Email address and my answer now is the same as then:

"I have just visited your website and the filter works fine in my Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers."

That is why you cannot spot any differences. The website is working perfectly as far as I can see.
It may be a little slow to respond as you have over 5000 people listed but otherwise is OK.

What browser are you using?

Can you please post a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Works fine for me too (Chrome, Windows 11).

Thanks Mike - I didn't get a reply to my email to you - I guess that must be in Spam.

Browser is Firefox

I was about to send a screenshot showing the problem when it occurred to me to refresh the page ... and low and behold it now works. Pretty obvious really and I should have known better.

Thanks for looking into it for me.

David

You said: "The married women italics work ok, plus any newly added individuals are there" so I assumed you must have refreshed the page already, otherwise, how did those get updated?

And so did I! On the previous install I missed ticking the box for the search filter so just had the married women. Facebook must treat pages with any new people as new pages but leaves the first page as being the one in memory
