Notes report...

Post by fhtess65 » 14 Apr 2022 15:36

I'm trying to figure out how to get a report of all the Notes for my 3rd great-grandfather. I only just (after all these years) discovered the Autotext feature (and love it), so added census info etc. Now I want a report. Am I correct that the only way to do this is via a Query? Or do I need to create a Named List as well? And will all the notes in the screencap below be included?

Use the Publish > Miscellaneous Reports > Individual Record Notes option and choose your 3rd great-grandfather.

Teresa, may I say that method of recording source document details is somewhat unconventional.
Usually, such details would be entered in the Text From Source field of a Source record cited by a Census Event fact.

Never fear - the details are also in the Where within Source in the Census event...however, I also like the transcription in the Notes and the way they're displayed, which is why I want to print them.

Thanks,

Teresa

Do you realise that the Text From Source fields (that usually hold the transcriptions) can be formatted in rich text styles exactly the same as Note fields?

Yes. I just also like the Notes tab :) It takes more clicks to go through facts etc to get to the information, whereas with Notes - it's all right there after one click.

That's what I love about FH - so many ways to use it.
