Charts in a Book

Is there a way to ensure all charts added to a book are positioned the same on each page?

As far as I can see, adjusting their positions can only be done by dragging, by eye, which is a bit hit and miss, and spoils the look of finished book.

Ideally I'd like each chart to be positioned top-left on every page, so that their titles are in exactly the same position on each page

Mick, If it was in a word processor adding a page break just before the chart would start to do that, then tweaking their size position to get similarity. Not sure if that is possible in a book though. :?:

Peter,
I actually asked Calico Pie, and they admit there are problems in this area, which they have in mind to correct, but may take some time to do so, as it is rather complicated.
As you say, it wouldn’t be so bad if we could ‘export’ raw charts to an external editor to tidy them up.

Another niggle I found, is that if you add a title to a chart when you create it, you cannot easily remove it. Deleting its text box on the chart does nothing, so although it can no longer be seen on the chart itself, it magically re-appears on the chart when its added to a book. To delete it, you have to format the field and actually delete the text!

I’ve given up for now, as it was doing my head in :D

Mike, I thought you were too an experienced user to be stumpted when there was an easy fix!
Lets hope CP come up with a solution.
Being lazy/short of time, I find books a very useful feature to provide relatives with their branches of the family tree that they can study at their leisure.
