Charting Companion Revisited

Back in 2017, when I first started using CC, I found it very slow. Each change in FH caused a CC reload, which took 2-3 minutes and was totally unworkable.

Now I have just had a new PC built (aren't grandsons brilliant  ) that really flies i.e 5 seconds from switch on, before ready for use, and under 2 seconds for FH to start ( 5000+ individuals).

I thought I'd transfer CC (V6.8.4) to my new PC to see if it was any quicker, but when I run it I am asked for a registration key, which I have never had! (I am waiting for Progeny to supply one)

In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had bought CC recently, and could tell me if speed has improved.
i.e If you make a change in FH, how long does it take CC to reload the data?

Had a reply from progeny, to say that my version is no longer supported, and recommending I buy the latest version for $50!
A bit cheeky I thought, as it still runs on my old PC :o
I don’t think I’ll bother.
Pleased - Not

You can get it from the Family Historian store for £19.99

https://store.family-historian.co.uk/pr ... -download/

I am not sure if this will qualify you for a free upgrade to version 8, maybe Progeny can clarify this. I sent a message and my issue was resolved :-)
