How to edit a template already in use

I recently asked for advice on how to
Change the citation template for an existing source
May I now ask for advice on a related subject - is it possible to edit a template already in use eg to change the punctuation and effect the change on each source that uses that template, as well as new uses of the template?
Thanks!

Yes, just use the Tools > Source Template Definitions... command and View/Edit... the template.
Then after Save use the Compare/Sync with Source Template Record... feature.
The Help button explains the details.

The second step was one I missed for ages, as, in RootsMagic, the update is automatic when a template gets edited. Imagine how happy I was to finally take note of Compare/Sync with Source Template Record! And, yes, I know, I should have RTFM first...
