2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
I have my records screen configured as shown in capture 1, to display 1st and 2nd spouses. Some records do not show the 2nd spouse, other do. refer to the screen captures showing this person who had 2 wives, Catherine is visible Marie Anne is not unless I click on him and open the individual window showing both spouses.
I also show the expression which has been working up to now on V6., the only change I made was to arrange the spouses name to show surname first, and that change worked for 1st spouse, always, and 2nd spouse when shown.

Mike,
For my 2nd spouse column I use the following. I don't have [2] after NAME.
INDI.~SPOU[2]>NAME

Yes, NAME[2] means show the Alternate Name, not the Primary Name.
So if a Spouse has no Alternate Name then nothing will be displayed.
Use %INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST% and %INDI.~SPOU[2]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST%

Hi Mike
I need your help again, I updated my version of FH and lost all my custom queries, so with that went my query for displaying multiple spouses. I'm back in the same boat. I found my original help request, and tried your suggestion and as I remember it did not work then either. Can't find the rest of this discussion that has the answer!
%INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST% and %INDI.~SPOU[2]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST%
Does not work, all of the time for some reason!!!!

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
Exactly how did you update?
Simply updating from say 7.0.11 to 7.0.15 on the same PC should not affect any customisations.
Have you switched to another PC?
You mention Queries, but the Expressions you quote were being applied to Records Window Columns.
Please confirm that you updated FH on the same PC and whether we are talking about Queries or the Records Window.
Screenshots of the problem would help.

I did both new machine and updated to 7, same project tho. I installed the old drive into the new machine as a backup.
I'm displaying the spouses on the record screen but loading from a query.

If you install FH on a new machine you must copy both a Project backup and a custom settings backup, otherwise you lose all your customisations.
See FHUG Knowledge Base Family Historian Copy and Migration Guide, especially Copying/Restoring Program Settings using one of the backup and restore settings plugins.
Assuming those customisations exist on your old machine you can copy them now to your new machine.
Most of the customisations will be on the old drive you installed and I can explain where.
They will be in the equivalent to C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\... but on a different drive letter, and can be copied to the actual C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\...folders.
However, that does NOT include Records Window custom Columns, which are held in the Windows Registry, so they will need to be re-entered.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
OK so I had an idea to go to the V6 file open the Configure columns for records list and copy and paste the expression into 7. That did not work, not sure why. While I would like to get all my plugins back I need this spouse 2 issue corrected to continue the research, it is causing a waste of time when the 2nd spouse is there but not displayed. The backup and restore settings might be "out of the barn" at this point, not sure if you have "Wise" words that will bring it all back into line.
I will go back to V6 and make a list of the plugins I had and see if they can be downloaded to V7.
Thanks as always

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
I see why a copy of what I thought was an old script didn't work, the now E drive from the old computer has V7 installed, The file was named mlfreyder v6 2021. So I only have V7 files on that drive.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
Mike, you can only have one version of FH installed on one PC machine.
What you were looking at on the old drive was a FH V6 Project database, which you have now opened using FH V7 and has been converted to FH V7 format.
However, as I tried to explain earlier, Project databases do NOT contain customisations such as Queries.
Customisations are mostly global and get applied to all Projects, so are held outside the Project databases.
The FH V7 customisations are in the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\... folders.
e.g. Custom Queries will be in the \Queries\Custom\ subfolder.
However, your old E:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\... folders still hold the FH V6 customisations.
So copy from:
E:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Queries\Custom\
to
C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Queries\Custom\
and all your custom Queries will appear in FH V7 after it is closed and re-opened.
What other customisations do you need? e.g. the \Plugins\ folder will transfer in the same way.
BTW: See FHUG Knowledge Base Family Historian Program Data Folder that explains how to reveal those folders if they are hidden on your PC.
Do NOT try to revert to FH V6. That is doomed to major failure.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
So... there are no Calico Pie named folders
What I have is E: Program Files (x86)/Family Historian/Queries
I have selected to display the hidden files and folders and there is no custom folder in there.
I looked in the same place on the C drive, turned on to view hidden, no custom query folder

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
Please review the Family Historian Program Data Folder advice more carefully.
Do NOT touch the Program Files (x86) folder which is where FH is installed.
It is the ProgramData folder you are looking for that holds the FH customisations.
Every Windows PC has both those folders but the ProgramData is typically hidden.
Once you have set the options correctly to display hidden folders & files I can absolutely guarantee that you will find the \ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\... folders on both the E: and C: drives.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
OK I see it. Copied all the custom queries from E to C, found the my serach query and now I get the same name of spouse 1 as spouse 2. Seems like this happened last time. Went thru all the custom queries that called out spouse 2, only a couple, none provide the desired results. I wonder if I changed it directly in the display records list, and not a query.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
According to the discussions in January, you changed the Records Window Columns.
Use %INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST% and %INDI.~SPOU[2]>NAME:SURNAME_FIRST%
Be careful to put the [1] and [2] index on the ~SPOU tag and NOT the NAME tag.
That then refers to the 1st and 2nd Spouse as you require and shows their primary name surname first.
You will have to repeat that customisation in FH V7 because Records Window Columns are NOT held in the ProgramData folder but in the Windows Registry of your old PC, which no longer exists!
Please, use one of the Backup and Restore FH Settings plugins whenever you make significant customisation changes so you have a backup available when needed.

Re: 2nd spouse not showing, sometimes...
That is so simple, why did I have spose 1 spouse 1 spouse 2, dont answer that.
I already downloaded the plugin and made a backup.
I get so deep in the research no time to study the software.
Thanks again.
