Dear readers,
I've recently had problems with my computer so had to reload the Family Historian program.
Now I find some of the setups I had appear to me to be different.
One in question is The Merge/Compare record. When clicked I get the dialogue but, I believe there was a box to insert the record number rather than scrolling down a list of 32,000+ records.
Am I correct, if so how do I get this box? to show itself.
Happy New Year to you all especially the staff that keeps this site running.

You may simply need to enlarge the width of the window by dragging one of its sides. That should reveal the missing box.

Re: Merge/Compare by id number
In the Select Records To Be Merged dialogue, there is a Record Id box to the right of the Filter.
It is just like in the Records Window.
I suspect you have not increased the width of the window to reveal all the options.
That leads me to wonder if you have lost all your other custom settings for window sizes, Diagrams, Reports, Queries, Plugins, Fact Sets, Records Window Columns, Property Box tabs, etc.
Did you use the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin to preserve all those settings?
If not then I'm afraid you will need to enter them all over again.
