Is there a way to move the Facts Tab so that it has the focus when the Property Box is opened?
Also, when I add media to an individual, (Link to an existing file) the media list defaults to an unknown order (not alphabetical) and clicking on the column headers does not change the sort order. I would like to have it by default in Updated order with the most recent at the top.
I've tried going into the Media records window, changing the sort order, save and exit but it makes no difference.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Re: Move Main Tab in Property box/Order of media files
The facts tab cannot be moved, but once you have the Property Box open on any particular tab you can change the focus person and the Property Box will keep that tab in focus (provided you don't close the Property box between viewing the two different people).
The Property Box Media tab by default displays items in date order followed by any undated media in the order in which they were added. So if none of the media have dates they will be in the order in which they were added (the order in the underlying Gedcom file) which is the reverse of what you want. You can change the order in the Gedcom file by using the up/down arrows in the toolbar of the Property Box Media tab, or in the last column of the All tab. So each time you add a new media item you could move it to the top of the list this way. Clicking the 'Pref'column heading in the Media tab will then display them in this order. However the display default order will still prioritise dates so you will have to sort on the Pref column each time if any of the Media have dates.

Thanks for your clear explanations Lorna. I've found a workaround to linking a regular graphic repeatedly - I have put them into a named group and access them quickly that way.
