Rich text when editing research notes?

I use rich text when creating research notes. I would also like to have rich text available when updating research notes created earlier. For example, the ability to hyperlink text to some of my results. I'm guessing that if that were possible, the function would be there. Any options for me to consider?

I'm not sure I understand your problem.
Any Research Note records can use Rich Text whenever they were created.
Just click the vertical ... bar on the right of the Text: to open the Rich Text editor and off you go...
That is the 'standard' way of opening the Rich Text editor for any field anywhere that supports Rich Text.

Ah ha! That’s the key—click on the vertical bar on the right. Guess I never noticed it before, or thought it part of the scroll bar. Thanks.
By the way, is this documented somewhere (I searched and couldn’t find any reference.)

In FH Help > Family Historian Help, under the Contents tab about halfway down there is Note Window:

That reminds me that double-click in the Text: box also works.
