FH 7.0.6 and Windows compatibility questions

Is FH 7.0.6 compatible with Windows 8.1?
Is it also compatible with Windows 10?
Approximately when will FH 8 be released?
Will FH 8 be compatible with Windows 8.1?

FH runs on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Version 7 was only released in December 2020 so I don't think we will see version 8 for quite some time.

the Family Historian website:
Family Historian 7 runs on Windows 10, 8.1, 8 or 7.
It's only available as a download and you must be able to access the Internet to activeate it when you install.
However, if you scan through
the version 7 change log you'll see a few references to things being a bit different if you have Windows 7, and -- given that you can no longer get security updates to Windows 7 -- it might be advisable to upgrade.
As others have said, V7 was only released late last year, so I doubt V8 is in the works yet. Calico Pie (the authors of the software) don't publish their plans.
