Calico Pie - The name

Todays absolutely pointless question. For no obvious reason, this morning I was wondering what the origins of the CP name were.

I can't see anything in the Forum, KB or their own website. Does anyone know the story?

The name itself seems to come from Edward Lear, and I suspect was chosen fairly randomly because it's quite hard to find a company name that isn't already taken.

But that's only a guess.

As it happens, there is another business called Calico Pie. They sell craft products. But they can't be a limited company bacause two companies can't have the same name. See https://www.calicopie.co.uk/

Lorna, interestingly, the craft company claims to have been formed in 1989 whereas our CP was incorporated in 1995.

P.S. We must be going lockdown crazy to be discussing this!
