* Narrative Report- Descendants by Generation

I have recently updated to AS v.7.2 templates and I have the following questions regarding citations and images of certificates in the Narrative Report using the default settings:-

1. 'SOURCES' - list at end of report

At the end of the correct 'Census' citation the following unwanted additional text appears each time:-

.....' Text from Source Name Relation Condition Sex Age Occupation Where Born ....'

At the end of the correct 'Marriage' citation the following unwanted text appears each time:-

.... 'Text from Source Certified Copy of an Entry Marriage' unwanted text appears each time :-

At the end of the correct 'Birth' citation the following unwanted text appears each time:-

.... 'Text from Source - Certified copy of entry of Birth' ....

How can I delete these unwanted extra additional text and avoid them happening again, thank you?

2. MAIN TEXT

a. 'Repetition' 2 or 3 times of the same information from census and birth citations for single individual:-

eg .....'he appears on census on 7th April 1861 in Wolverhampton East. On 7th April 1861 he was a Tin Roller in Wolverhampton East. He appeared in the census on 7th April 1861 aged 15 ' .....

How can I delete this repetition and avoid them happening again?

b. Unwanted extra text appearing:-

eg ..... 'Employer /Employed / Neither Employer nor employed ' ....

How can I delete this extra unwanted information and avoid it happening again

3. BMD & CENSUS . jpeg IMAGES IN SOURCES

Since using the new AS 7.2 default settings none of my .jpeg actual images of BMD and Census certificates have appeared in the Sources page at the end of the narrative report ( they always appeared in the previous version of AS) together with the correct citation.

How can I restore my original .jpeg images of BMD & Census records together with their correct citations

I am keen to learn how to correctly citate all my records in Narrative Reports and Books

Some of those issues are more to do with your new FH V7 Report settings than what AS produces.
Please produce a 'Descendants by Generation' report for a branch that was updated by AS V5 and not AS V7.
I suspect that may also exhibit some of the symptoms you have reported due to the new FH V7 Report settings.

1. 'SOURCES' - list at end of report

This looks like the Text From Source settings may be different from what you have used in the past.
There are two dialogues to check with the report displayed and they are nothing to do with AS:
a) Report > Options > Sources tab, Append from Source/Citation at bottom have Text from Source tick options.
b) Tools > Preferences > Sources tab, Generic Source Formats... button reveals Text from Source tick options.
Experiment with only one or the other ticked.

2. MAIN TEXT

a. 'Repetition' 2 or 3 times of the same information
Those sentences are derived from the Birth, Occupation & Census facts shown on the person's Facts tab.
Review those Facts, check if there are any duplicates, and check the Sentence shown below for each fact.
If there are duplicated facts then that needs further investigation.
If the Sentences include repetitions then that is due to the Tools > Fact Types... definition of their Sentence Templates and nothing to do with AS.

b. Unwanted extra text appearing
I think that text is in the Note field of the Occupation facts and is governed by AS Census Template Column settings that may have reverted to defaults where you had changed them in AS V5 .
They can also be hidden by the Report > Options > Main tab Inc. Event/Attr Notes setting but will affect all fact Notes.

3. BMD & CENSUS . jpeg IMAGES IN SOURCES

It is possible that the later AS V7 settings have put the images in a different position.
Alternatively, check the Report > Options > Sources tab Show Source/Citation Pictures settings

Apologies you are correct issues in Narrative Report were more to do with FH V7 and not AS

1. SOURCES - Text from Source
Your first solution options worked. Initially I clicked on 'Text from Source' which fully expanded the total content of source and then CLICKED IT BACK OFF which made all the excess text at the end of the citation disappear, thank you.

2. REPETITTION IN MAIN TEXT
Yes you are correct there were duplicate entries into 'Fact Types'. When I deleted some of the duplicated facts it cleaned up the auto text in the narrative improving readbility and flow, thank you

3. BMD & CENSUS IMAGES IN SOURCES
Once again, your solution has worked and all the original .jpeg images of all my BMD & Census evidence have returned with all the citations in Sources part of Narrative.

I did explain when I was emailed with these questions last night that none of them were anything to do with moving to Ancestral Sources.
