* Selecting all records in the Records Window
Selecting all records in the Records Window
Is there a quick way/shortcut to select the entire list of records in a Records Window, for example before running the Where Used Record Links plugin? "Select all" doesn't appear as a right click menu option, or anywhere else that I can see.
Is selecting the first and last records whilst holding the shift key the only way to do this?

Ctrl-A works in most programmes, give that a try(I’m not at my PC at the moment)

No, I've tried that, along with various combinations of other modifier keys. There doesn't seem to be anything I can find that works.
I run the Where Used Record Links plugin quite regularly to check for any irregularities such as forgetting to link or cite a source or media file that I've added, and I was hoping there might be a quicker way than having to select the first and last records when I have to scroll down to bring the last record into view.
Re: Selecting all records in the Records Window
A slightly quicker way, if you haven't tried this, is to select 1st record, use slider to quickly get to last record then Shift-left click. You can use slider must faster than usual scroll. (It took me less than a second to get to the last of my 20,000 records.)
I wonder why Calico Pie never thought to use Ctrl-A, or even Edit/Select All?
Perhaps you could add it to the wish list
EDIT Ctrl-A works in queries, so create a query that lists everyone, then you can use Ctrl-A

There is a workaround you might like to try.
First, you need to enable the Plugin prompt for choosing records.
To do that ensure that no record is selected before running the Plugin.
i.e. Open any Records Window tab with no records selected or in any Result Set choose a non-record cell.
When the Plugin is run it will display a Choose Record Type prompt.
To keep that prompt in future tick its Keep Prompt option.
Select the type of record, Individual in this case, and click OK.
Now in the Select Records dialogue, you can click >> Add All button in the middle and click OK.

Ah, thanks Mike. I'll try that.
@Gowermick although I said scroll, I do nearly always use the slider bar, but I was hoping for a single click context menu item or a single use key combination.
I think I may well add "Select All as a right-click context menu item in any records window" to the wish list, I can't see anything similar already added to it.

What are you wanting to do with the selected records? on the Where used option at the bottom is an icon which can quickly add all the selected records to a named list and you can do the same on any query result set.

Re: Selecting all records in the Records Window
Jane, I must have a blind spot. In the Records Window or Result Set, I cannot find a "Where used option at the bottom".
Anyway, the same problem exists in the Named List. There is no easy way to select all the records.
He said to start with that he wants to run the Where Used Record Links plugin on all the records.
