RM Place details in FH
In Rootsmagic they use a details space for places. In this a place such as a cemetery name would be attached to a city or town ect instead of a separate place location. Is this available with Family Historian? Such as I would go to a city say Milwaukee Wisconsin and there would be a listing of all areas a person may have been in Milwaukee. I would not need to list cemetery A Milwaukee ect. If this makes sense I did like how that was presented. Thank you
Re: RM Place details in FH
The equivalence for RootsMagic's 'Place Details' would be the 'Address' field in Family Historian Events as it serves the same purpose.

Pete,
Fellow RM immigrant here! I found the knowledge base article about Places and Addresses to be very helpful, you might give it a glance.

Pete - are you implying that RM could provide a list of all subsidiary places in Milwaukee? A standard list provided by RM? Because FH doesn't have access to any list like that - you have to enter all the places and addresses yourself (or import them as part of an imported tree).

Re: RM Place details in FH
There are also Plugins that can rearrange the Place and Address data to suit your needs.
It is partly down to various products implementing how they represent the data in GEDCOM terms in different ways.
Do you really want every product to be a replica of every other product?
You just have to come to terms with the differences, both good and not so good.

Just like that all areas located in a place are in one spot. Thanks I will look closer at the address tab.
