Good afternoon,
I have this as part of a textscheme:
%INDI.EVEN-A_TENANT_IE_SWORDALE_TENANT_COMMA_1796.NOTE2%
It works just as I wish - but if I close FH7 and re-open it, the % signs have disappeared and I just get the ugly text:
INDI.EVEN-A_TENANT_IE_SWORDALE_TENANT_COMMA_1796.NOTE2 in each box in my diagram.
If I then re-insert the % signs all is well until I close FH7 and re-open it.
I tried deleting the relevant line from the text scheme, and re-entering the entire thing....the same problem persists.
Has anyone any thoughts as to what's happening?

Re: Diagram Text Scheme - strange behaviour
Where did you get EVEN-A_TENANT_IE_SWORDALE_TENANT_COMMA_1796 from?
I suspect it is too long. I think the limit is about 12 or 16 characters.
Use the Data Ref Assistant to add the Data Ref from the list of valid custom events.
Sorry, I am wrong. It is not that. I have just experimented and that data ref is valid.
The limit I was thinking of was for Record Flag Names.
Is that the only item in the Template?
What is the full expression?

Re: Diagram Text Scheme - strange behaviour
It's a custom event, originally set up like that so that I'd remember the format I wanted to use - very clunky I know.
I didn't realise there was a limit to the number of characters.
By hook or by crook I have got it sorted now - apologies for wasting your time.
Edit: I didn't refresh this tab before responding so didn't see your later response...thanks anyway!

Re: Diagram Text Scheme - strange behaviour
Have you made the custom event a 'project only' event? And which version of V7 are you using? I reported a problem like this which turned out to be a bug affecting 'project only' custom facts. See Diagram text scheme not correctly saved in V7 (18321)
It has been fixed in the latest versions of V7, so if you think that is the problem go to https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7 and download the latest minor upgrade.

Thanks Lornna - will bear this in mind if it occurs again.
