Meaning of colors in source box

Post by BakerJL75 » 08 Feb 2021 19:25

This is mostly curiosity. In the yellow source box, some of the source record numbers are blue, and some are brown. I can't see what the difference is. Sometimes the 717 is brown, sometimes blue. Sometimes the color carries over to the citation text. Am I missing anything important by not knowing the difference?

I had not noticed that before.
It is actually the whole Citation and Source link that is either blue or brown.
(While the Citation is highlighted it looks black against a shaded background but click elsewhere and it adopts the colour.)

Blue ones are Indiviudal record Citations such as on whole Individual record or any Individual Facts.
Brown ones are Family record Citations such as on whole Family record or any Family Facts such as Marriage and Divorce.
i.e. They are the default colours for data in those two types of record.
