I use v7 and have just opened a second project. Is it possible to import Source Records from my other project, or do I have to re-create them?

Welcome to the FHUG.
What type of Source Records are you talking about?
It would be rare to need the same ones in different Projects.
If you are creating extra Projects for branches of the same family there are good reasons not to do that.
However, it is possible to use File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File and adjust the settings to export only Source Records and their associated Repository and Media records?
It produces a warning that can be ignored and the GEDCOM imported into another Project using File > Merge/Compare File.

I was advised when starting a new Project but wanting the sources from an existing project, to copy the existing Project, with a new name and then delete all the people in the copy. One does this by adding all but one of the people to a named list and then deleting all the people in that Named List.

Yes, that is another method, but will probably leave behind unwanted Note, Media & Place records.
Actually, you could Copy Project and then use the Split Tree Helper to delete All Individuals, and all Note and Media records with no links.
However, the question remains as to why they need to be duplicated in a new Project.
The only scenario I can think of is for Method 2 'lumped' Sources, but they are very few and very simple.

My new project is unrelated to my family project. It's just a bit of historical research for a theatre group I belong to.

So why do you need to reproduce the Sources?
What Source records in your family Project are going to help with your theatre group historical research?

Mike, if Bethea91is a "lumper" it's possible the sources could be of use. After all if "lumping" there is just one "1901 England and Wales Census"

Yes Jane, I already said that yesterday, but they are few and simple, so hardly worth going to all the effort of copying.

thank you all for the advice. After more thought I've solved it by having both projects open and doing a little 'copy and pasting'.
