Unfortunate wording in FH help

Today I found this in the FH7 help:
This section describes advanced features. It is primarily intended for advanced and technically-minded users (especially the part about functions). In other words - please do not be discouraged if it makes no sense to you.
Am I alone in thinking it's just a gender neutral version of "This is man's/woman's work - don't worry your pretty/ugly little/big head about it"?

Surely, readers can decide for themselves if they have the skill, knowledge, time or inclination to pursue a particular aspect of FH, and don't need this sort of patronising comment. Or am I just getting old and grumpy?

Well, I'm not discouraged, I will crack on, and if I'm still stuck I will post here and I can be sure some helpful person will sort me out.:D

That section of the help hasn't been substantially changed since the advanced features were introduced, when they scared a number of users who weren't technically-minded but who thought they needed to master the features to use the product at all.

I might word it differently, but IMO it is a necessary warning.

It didn't bother me at all. In fact, my reaction was "oh good, something interesting". And I've had offline discussions with a couple people coming over from another product that were concerned because they were not interested in spending time on that kind of thing. Even though I have not used FH7 for long, they were very happy when I told them I thought it was a great product without ever messing with the technical stuff. But it was great to have because the people who do enjoy it are writing great plugins and such.
