Setting up a list of those people on my tree, who are in a particular census.

Post by davidapringle » 24 Jan 2021 16:45

I am trying to set up a query to carry out the above task. I have looked in the 'Getting the Most from Family Historian Book', but there not appear to anything about the census in this regard.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome David.

You may not need to write a Query yourself as that kind of question has been asked and answered by many before.

However, it depends on exactly what you are asking and how you have recorded the Census details.

Are you asking to find all the members of the same household as recorded on one Census return page?
See the FHUG Knowledge Base Finding Records Linked to a Source
OR
Do you want to find people who are recorded in each Census they should appear in over their lifetime?
e.g.
See the FHUG Knowledge Base Downloads Census & The Missing Years
Also the Plugin Store Lookup Missing Census Facts plugin

This very simple Fact Query prompts for year and gives a list of people with a Census fact for that year. There is plenty of scope for refinement.
