New Project Family Surname
I now have just tried to enter a NEW PROJECT family surname on Project Window Wizard for the first time on Upgrade v.7 and some reason the new surname I entered does not appear on my list of other family names in Project Window after several attempts. Do I have reset something on the upgrade v.7? Is there another method to enter a new project in V.7?

Re: New Project Family Surname
I have started a new thread for this new topic rather than continue under a misleading Subject line.
I presume you are using File > Project Window... then New Project... and Start a new project (no import) followed by some Next > dialogues and Finish.
That new Family Historian Project should be listed in the File > Project Window.
BTW: It is not usually advisable to create multiple Projects unless they are for completely unrelated people.
If I've made the wrong assumption then please explain what window you are using.
The name of each window is shown in the title bar across the top of the window.

Re: New Project Family Surname
Thank you for moving to a new topic ,sorry about that.
After Start a new project (no import) a new page opens 'Enter Details of Starting Person' - starting, sex, father, mother > next. Then another new page opens 'Enter Name of New Project' - New Project (tick if want to make default), >finish .
Still the name of my new Project Name does not appear on Project Window
Error Message -'Can not create Project Folder. There is aleady a folder with that name in the specified location
It seems to be in My Documents > under Family History Project ??
Any help will be appreciated,thanks

Re: New Project Family Surname
So when you click Finish you get the error message "Cannot create project folder. There is already a folder with this name in the specified location."
That is because the New Project Name: you have chosen is already a Project or there happens to be a folder with that same name already in your ...\My Documents\Family Historian Project\ folder. Presumably, in that latter case you created that folder some time in the past.
So either choose a different New Project Name: or move/rename the existing folder using Windows File Explorer.
