FH 7 Crash

Post by peterbel » 02 Jan 2021 12:04

This has only happened once but I thought worth checking if I should report it to Calico.
I was using an Individual's detail window and had just copied a birth date into the baptism box, gone back to the birth date box to edit it to 'c. year' and the program closed.
It opened up again with no apparent problem.

Peter, what is the "Individual's detail window"?
If you are going to report to CP you will need to be specific.
Do you mean the Property Box Main tab, which has no Baptism box by default, so perhaps you have customised it?
Do you mean the Property Box Facts tab, and the Baptism Event Date box?

The crash is probably caused by interaction with something else such as AutoSave.

Report it to CP to at least give them feedback on the instability of FH V7.
If necessary they may give you instructions to provide a crash log.

Thanks Mike,
Yes it was the Individual's Property Box Main Tab. I have added a Baptism box as most of most of the old records I have only have those. I'll contact CP. Does FH automatically create an error report that I could attach?

There will be an error log but deep in the depths of Windows, so let CP explain if they need it.

CP responded and asked for my PC's OS details along with the Error report from Event Viewer.
Both have been provided and acknowledged.
