Has anyone tried to use Family Historian on a Windows 10 Cloudbook?

From what I have read, I think you would struggle.
Cloudbooks only have a small 11" or 14" screen and only 16 to 64GB of 'disk' storage and a low-performance CPU.
It would probably run FH for small Projects, although the small screen would be a challenge.
But what about ancillary apps you need such as a photo editor, Ancestral Sources, PDF viewer, Wordprocessor, etc, etc?

It should be possible to connect a decent sized screen.

"At least 100Mb of hard disk space is required to store the program and accompanying files". So I would imagine that there should be enough room for FH and AS after the space that Windows 10 has occupied.

The idea of Cloudbooks is that the data is stored in the cloud so that should not be an issue assuming a decent internet service.

The ancilliary apps/programs required such as IrfanView, PDF-XChange Viewer etc are relatively small. Word processing, spreadsheets etc would take place in the cloud.

If anyone already owns a Windows 10 Cloudbook it would be interesting to discover if this scenario would work.

FH and AS and IrfanView do not work on data in the cloud and CPU performance may be an issue.

I am playing devil's advocate - exploring what might be possible. Just discussing - that's all.

Regarding data in the cloud, I was thinking of Dropbox SmartSync where the data resides in the cloud and is only downloaded when needed. Agree that the data really needs to be on the device, so using a SD card should solve that issue.

Agree about CPU performance. I suppose that can't be determined without trying it.

Some time ago I tried FH on a Windows Tablet running Win7. This was a low powered device. I stored my data on a micro SD card and it worked fine. I did try connecting it to my TV via HDMI and had a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and it worked fine. The low power processor was not an issue. I did not try accessing data in the cloud though.

Unfortunately, the new FH7 activation process makes speculative installs on old hardware more difficult, as I think licensed copies can only be moved one way (e.g. onto a new PC). Once a PC is deactivated to free up an installation onto a different PC, CP won’t allow it to be reactivated again.
