Creating a report of Research Notes using a query

I like the new Research notes functionality in FH7 and I am trying to sort out how best to use them.

One of the things I would like to do is produce a report for the same repository. At the moment I have put a hyperlink in the research task stating, for example, Ancestry.com is the repository that I want to create a Research Note Task report for.

I have tried creating a query with the selection being "Add if %NOTE.TEXT% contains 'ancestry'" but that doesn't produce any results. I presume that I am querying the wrong field. What should I be querying?

I can see me wanting to set up reports for particular Surnames or sources e.g. newspapers or censuses. I think sorting out how to generate the query on Notes will help me understand how to best add text to research notes.

Research Notes are a new Record type quite distinct from shared Notes.
On the Records Window, they have their own tab.
So they have their own tag _RNOT instead of NOTE.

Instead of creating a Record Link from Research Note to Repository, etc, you can link the Repository record, etc, to the Research Note on the Notes tab by using Add Note > Shared Research Note.

The Rows filter Expression will also depend on what type of Query you are running.

If it is a Research Note type of Query then the Expression will be %_RNOT.TEXT%

Thanks Mike, I hadn't noticed the "Research Notes" in the list of query types.

All working now.
