I delayed asking this to give Mike a rest on Sunday. But seeing his replies.
Where are Calico Pie (or user group) instructions for upgrading from V6 to V7?

I work with multiple Projects and havent yet opened them all in V7 so I got up this morning resolved to read the Calico Pie instructions for the upgrade.
I cant find them except for help on using sources, mainly by Lorna.
Excellent but I seem to remember there was more?

I assume you are not asking about how to install the upgrade itself, as you have already done that.

You may be thinking of a section in the FH Help files. Search in the Help files for "Notes on upgrading to Version 7" and you will some advice there. (Edit: Peter has just posted a direct link to the same.)

With all due respect, those notes don't explicitly deal with the process of upgrading two PC running FH V6 synchronised via cloud storage, etc, which is quite a common scenario. The notes only deal with the aftermath of running FH V7.

There is no advice about ensuring you have backups beforehand in case you want to revert to FH V6 or if data gets upset.
There is no advice about ensuring FH V6 is never run during the upgrade installation and running FH V7 on Projects on one PC, waiting for cloud sync, and then running FH V7 on the other PC.

True, but Evelyn's question was not about upgrading on two PCs. She said she had not yet opened all her projects in V7 (she has definitely opened at least one already) and I think she wanted to refresh her memory as to whether she needed to take any action when each project is opened for the first time in V7.

I don't think you have any need at all to feel "very stupid". I'm still trying to find my way around all the changes in FH7, which seem to be represent the most complex version to version change so far, having used the software continuously since the first public release (Version 2). It's also quite disturbing when some information that used to be immediately visible in Version 6 and earlier, 'disappears' from view without warning/explanation and becomes a feature that one needs to reconfigure to be presented/edited on screen.

Even the link provided to the online help page doesn't provide the whole guidance picture, because all of the information on that Web Link is simply a repeat of/identical to using the FH7 program 'Help' on the menu bar, so there is no need to 'go/be online' to see that information on the desktop, although I can see the possibility of that online help being updated in between program updates.

A little like yourself, I sometimes prefer to be able to see/reference written guidance, often without having to open the FH program, so have copied the 'fh.chm' file from the program installation folder to be read in an external application, e.g. in my case Calibre, which can convert the file to PDF for reading on the desktop, a 'tablet', printing etc.

I take Mike Tate's point that the guide does not go beyond the operational features of FH7 (input and output), but suspect that is your main priority at the moment.
