Creating a custom source template

Post by mezentia » 18 Dec 2020 12:31

I have been trying to create a custom source template to record details of admissions and discharges for London schools. Having set up the initial template and then trying to use it , if the field name is too long, the data entry field is not displayed. Other than changing the field name, is there any way to overcome this? Furthermore, is there any way to cancel the creation of a source record if I back out of filling in the form?

For now just reduce the field description lengths, you can always move the extra text into the grey text which appears when you enter data.

Edit>Undo once or twice from the menu will undo the source add.

Thanks Jane. It seems that simply editing the fields doesn't update the template, though. It is necessary to View/Sync to complete any changes. Shame I can't put the Undo function on the toolbar :(

And now, suggestions, please, as to how I would set this bit of the form up in the template:
