Hi there
I have tried to merge two gedcom files and have ended up with this for one family and a few other duplicates of families and lots of duplicates for media.
Please help!!!

Re: DUPLICATES!
I suspect that when you Merged you only checked the Individuals tab and not the Families or Media or other tabs.
Therefore, only Individual records got merged! It is a common mistake.
If you have a backup of your master Project taken just before the Merge as advised by the command, then I suggest you restore that backup and perform the Merge again but check all the tabs.
See the Knowledge Base Merge/Compare File advice.

Re: DUPLICATES!
You mean you did not create a backup beforehand as advised?
There may be another way to get back to where you started.
But just in case it goes wrong please do the following NOW:
File > Backup/Restore > Full Backup which is what you should have done before the Merge.
Now use File > Backup/Restore > Revert to Snapshot... and select a Snapshot Taken just before the Merge.
Then click Revert to Snapshot and accept the warning messages.
That should restore your main Project to its state before the Merge. Please confirm.
Now make another File > Backup/Restore > Full Backup.
You should then be able to perform the Merge again but check every tab and match all equivalent records & fields.
Did you understand the Knowledge Base Merge/Compare File advice?
Using this technique should be easier that trying to Merge all the separate duplicated records.
But there may be some tidying up needed for the Media files themselves afterwards.
So when you have completed the Merge let me know.
