Post by Johnr65 » 15 Dec 2020 12:39

Since the update to FH7 I keep getting a pop up saying the cache is full, see attached.

When I press to learn more I get an empty FH7 page!

They work as normal for me using Google chrome.
Did you check that the links are enabled in the Internet settings shown in the top white margin?
I do not pay a sub to My Heritage.

I've got a very similar problem, except the pop-up notification I receive when I open FH7 says "MyHeritage service is temporarily unavailable”, followed by a "Learn more…” link. When I click on the link, a tab opens in my browser which shows me a page on Family Historian’s website that simply says “Notification”, nothing else, just the word “Notification”.

If I hover over the green circled hints number on any record in the focus window, it brings up the link to the matches for FindMyPast, and underneath it says “MyHeritage searching…” and it stays like that throughout my session.

I've checked the Internet Data Matches settings and they are the same as they were in FH6.

That problem has also appeared on the FH Email list: New problem with MyHeritage service on Family Historian 7
https://groups.io/g/family-historian/to ... 79713#2141

I also had that popup once, but don't usually use MyHertitage.

I suggest you report the symptoms to Calico Pie via http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php support.

I'm getting the same symptoms as Eric is reporting. I have Internet Data Matches set to open in an external browser, but changing this to the web search window makes no difference. I think the problem started at the same time as I upgraded to v.7.

I have the same issue, but only since yesterday. I installed FH7 over FH6 on the 15th December, but did not start getting the warnings until yesterday, on a native Win 8.1 PC.

I also installed the trial version as a clean install on a Win 10 VM on the 10th. I've just logged in to that, and both FMP and My Heritage hints are still working normally on the trial version.

I said I had no problem but I too had it come up today.

I have solved it by de activating the hints from My Heritage for all projects. I found I was spending a lot of time, since the upgrade, looking at hints and decided instead to check events where I had no source.

I have the same problem as Fruitbat. I use win7 Pro 64bit

The log shows:
08:55:00 MyHeritage service stopped. MyHeritage service is temporarily unavailable
08:58:14 MyHeritage service stopped. MyHeritage service is temporarily unavailable
08:59:19 MyHeritage service stopped. MyHeritage service is temporarily unavailable
09:00:29 MyHeritage service stopped. MyHeritage service is temporarily unavailable

I changed Internet programs and retried. It is the same if you use Firefox or Chrome....

Ah well, it seems to have recovered and is working properly for me now. Fingers crossed...

Sorry, Peter, I haven't got an answer. All I did was close down the computer last night and restart it this morning. My log file from yesterday shows a whole lot of entries identical to the ones you've quoted, but today - so far - there are no entries at all.
Yesterday I was getting the same error on my laptop; this morning that too is working normally.

Unfortunately I spoke too soon: the same problem suddenly reappeared, so I've created a support ticket.

I think Calico Pie were aware of some problems with the MyHeritage matching during beta testing, and I think they said they were communicating with MyHeritage to try to sort it out. I'm sure they are aware of the ongoing problems but there may not be much Calico Pie can do about it on their own, if the problems are caused by changes at the MyHeritage end. We may just have to be patient.

It seems odd that the problem is persistent on my FH7 installation that I upgraded from FH6, but has not appeared at all on a clean FH7 trial version installation in which the MyHeritage hints continue to work normally. The issue wasn't apparent on my upgrade installation until three days after I had upgraded it either.

I've opened a support ticket anyway, mentioning the other reports in this group, in case no-one else has opened a ticket, or that the amount of reports received might influence the priority assigned to it.

All hints are working for me this morning, and no error notifications. I've also just received a response to my ticket from CP which says that they are investigating.

Now FMP isn't working either! I've reported it to CP.
