Hi guys,
I have FH6.2 on an old laptop and I want to move it to a new one. How do I install FH6.2 on a new laptop and populate it with the work I have already done?
The second question is, once it is on the new laptop, how do I copy it to One Drive and sync it with the desktop version?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Move FH From Old to New Laptop.
See the advice at how_to:family_historian_migration_guide|> Family Historian V5 & V6 Migration Guide.
You install FH on the new laptop in the same way you installed FH on the old laptop.
Use the same installation download or CD with the licence key that came with it.
BTW: Once migrated to the new laptop, FH must be uninstalled from the old laptop, because it is only allowed on 2 PC.
i.e. your new laptop and your desktop.
In the above guide under Further Advice it refers to synchronising via OneDrive.
BTW: How have you been synchronising your Projects until now?
Please look at the guides and then come back with any questions and your proposed strategy.
A shortcut may be to just install FH on the new laptop and then synchronise via OneDrive with the desktop PC.
That works providing the desktop PC has the latest versions of all your Projects.
So the strategy you choose is governed by which device has your latest Projects.

Re: Move FH From Old to New Laptop.
Thank you Mike - I will give that a try. I knew the question must have cropped up before - I just wasn't sure where the best place was to look.
I haven't been synchronising so far. I simply back up the projects on my old laptop and occasionally on an external hard drive - but not syncing as such.
Thanks again,
Dave

Re: Move FH From Old to New Laptop.
OK, so what exists on your desktop PC?
Is FH installed? Are there any Projects?
If there is nothing on desktop, then first migrate old laptop to new laptop.
Then install FH on desktop and following OneDrive synchronisation guide to sync laptop to desktop.
BTW: Don't overlook the Backup and Restore FH Settings plugin.
