Orientation
I have just registered with this forum so this is my first query. I have entered some names into FH6 and now trying to enter a birth certificate. I have copied it from windows explorer which is in a landscape form and dragged and dropped it into 'Add', 'Pictures'. It then appears in 'Insert Pictures' still in landscape form. When I try dragging and dropping it into the individual media window, it then appears as portrait so am having to put my head on one side to try and read it! I also have the book but cannot find anything relevant on this topic. Can anyone please help with this problem.

Re: Orientation
I suspect that you are not adding it correctly given your description.
Your birth certificate should be added to the birth fact as a media image and not as a picture for the individual.
If you open the Sample Project that comes with FH check the birth record for the root person Ian Munro and see how that fact record is constructed with the media of his birth certificate added and then do the same thing with your person who you want to attach the certificate to.

Re: Orientation
Peter's advice about image orientation is absolutely correct.
Colin's advice about where to add document images is also correct, but nothing to do with image orientation.
The genealogy convention is to only add photos of people to the Individual Media tab.
Documents should be added as Source Citations corroborating various facts.
i.e. Birth Certificate corroborates a Birth Event date & place, but also corroborates the parents Names and their Occupation.
See the how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers especially Sources Methods 1 & 2 but don't overlook the other topics.
