How is this possible? I can usually figure things out but this has me stumped!

You have accidentally created two Family records for that couple: James and Caroline.
Perhaps, when you added the child Edwin Rupert?

The solution is to Merge the two Family records.
So open the Records Window and on the Families tab click the heading of the first column to sort records into order.
( If there is no Families tab then use Tools > Preferences > Records Window to change its Display Option. )
Scroll down until you find the two records called ...of James Francis Ince and Caroline Alleyne Medford.
Select both records by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking them.
Then use the Edit > Merge/Compare Records command, where every Action should be Keep, Add, or Null Merge.
Click Merge and that should fix the problem.

Check the results without closing FH.
If anything is unsatisfactory then use Edit > Undo Merge Records to revert to the original state and ask again.

Ian, please use the FAMILIES tab, not the INDIVIDUALS tab, and read through my advice again.

You must start from the Records Window not the Merge/Compare Records command.

The records are called ...of James Francis Ince and Caroline Alleyne Medford
