Internet Data Matches

Post by DerekAth » 21 Jul 2020 12:30

Is it just me or is this system very slow? I only use it for FMP (Not My Heritage).

I do have a new laptop, but the link is often slow, sometimes freezes and other times just closes FH!

A very useful tool but it can be quite frustrating at times.

Derek

Are you using the internal browser or external browser? If you are using the internal one then it may be worth swapping to the external one.

See this article on the Knowledgebase https://fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=ho ... ta_matches

The FH Web Search Window often has these niggles.
This Find My Past Hints (17937) posting seems very similar but the External Web Browser option works OK.

Forgive me for being slow, how do I switch to the external web browser?

Sorry - just found it in "Location to Display matches".

That does seem to work much better - thank you!

Did you try any of the other advice given in the Knowledge Base page that was posted by Colin?

Mike,

I read through the article which was very clear.

I will be sticking with the external version - much faster and no freezing/crashing!

Thank you
