hello,
i've recently installed FH6.2. the sample project was very comprehensive but i couldn't find anywhere in the 'getting started from FH6' manual showing how to add a second wife or husband. true, the manual showed how to do it using the drag and drop method using the diagram boxes where it moves one family member over to another group in the same family ... page 84 in the manual.
however, what i have to do after creating the husband and the first wife plus one child and adding them to the rest of the family, is to then create the second wife but how do i do that? the first wife and her position in the tree still exists ... and no-where else to attach her.
please, any help would be much appreciated. thank you.

Re: adding a second wife or husband
Welcome to Family Historian!
Two options, both from the main focus screen (which is probably easier for a beginner to use than working with diagrams/charts). Select the husband by clicking on their name box (which will change colour to show that it is selected), and then either select <Add><Spouse...> from the main menu at the top, or click on "Add More Relatives for (Husband's name)", and select <Add Spouse...> from the pop-up menu.
Both options will give you the choice of either adding a brand new person, or designating somebody already in the database as the new wife.

Either:
In the Focus window, with the husband as the focus person, click the line below his first family where it says 'Add More Relatives for ...'. then choose Add Spouse.
Or:
In the husband's Property Box, Main tab, in the Spouse section click the second tab which has a plus sign on it, then click Add Spouse/Partner.
Or:
Use the drag and drop method in the diagram. Just drag sideways from the husband and another box will appear and you can Add Spouse. (I always work from diagrams and never use the Focus window!)
